This gem showed up on my timeline today. 1 year ago I was exploring Amsterdam. I remember it like it was yesterday. I was dodging bikes, posing with statues in Rembrandtplein, and being astonished by the blunts in the ashtrays at lunch.
I looked into schools and I’ve been in communication with the admissions offices. Unfortunately my choice to change my undergraduate major from marketing to journalism is coming back to bite me in the arse. I may need to take accounting and finance classes, and I for sure need to take the GMAT. This makes it slightly terrifying because I barely know basic algebra, math was never my strength. Also, it’s going to take a lot of money that I don’t have to invest in a program I likely may not be accepted into. But fear not, I’m trying anyway.
Meanwhile, I’m learning coding and honing my skills in digital marketing. Hopefully, I will begin freelancing soon so I can start making an income on a job I can perform anywhere.
A lot has happened in one year. I’ve graduated college, gotten out of the relationship that woke up the gypsy inside me, but one thing is for sure. I’m me and I know what I want. I want to explore more. I want to eat strange foods that might make me upchuck. Throwback to the Rotterdam Markthal. I want to feel out of place in a country where I don’t speak the language. I want to learn and see and try more. So as soon as I can, I will be making more memories like this one. Wish me luck!
